From dismal shed to a desirable location for a quality organisation, Railway House was made ready for Gloucester City Homes in rapid time.

The social housing provider Gloucester City Homes has a first class new home of its own.

Gloucester City Homes (GCH), a holder of the Gold Award from Investors in People, manages 4,800 homes and is the first tenant of the newly transformed offices at Railway House, close to the city’s rail station.

Formal Investments reinvented 10,700 sq ft of redundant retail warehouse into highspec offices for 70 staff in a rapid six-month turnaround from pre-let to fully functioning offices.

The first class offices were provided on a 10 year lease with much more favourable terms than the housing association had had previously.

Formal Investments worked closely with GCH to tailor their space ensuring a speedy and high quality fit-out, which made their new base work-ready from day one.

Background

Formal Investments purchased the boardedup retail shed and land at Bruton Way in Gloucester and commissioned Roberts Limbrick Architects to design the conversion into prime office space.

Gloucester City Homes signed a pre-let and worked with Formal Investments to create its ideal offices at a price that delivers operational effectiveness and value for money.
